Armenian Sights is the current outcome of the project Experience Armenia which is aimed to promote tourism in Armenia and illustrate how technology and art can be integrated into a new form of presentation.
This watch face works only on a smartwatch with Google Wear OS platform such as Samsung Galaxy Watch 4+, TicWatch Pro 3 and several other brands. This app lets you select a picture from a gallery of pictures inside the app and transfer it as the background photo of the watch face. The companion app also changes the color combination of digits and watch hands, based on the theme of the selected photo.
Our moto is 'Viewing Armenia through colorful lenses' and the picture gallery inside the app is trying to demonstrate and implement this core concept. The idea is to revisit sights and views of the country in a colorful and modern way that could be appealing to young generation, specially to the users of smartwatches around the world.
More pictures and color themes will be published every month for the users of watch face and its companion app.
Our objective in making this software was to make smartwatches more accessible to Armenians by providing useful information such as today's date in local language besides English. Future releases of the app will include a bilingual (Armenian/English) user interface as well as official public calendar.
